Our Story
Florida SUFS Tutoring is part of Special Ed Resource, founded in 2014 by Luke and Suzie Dalien. Like many of the families we serve, Luke and Suzie are parents of a child with special needs — their son has autism and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
They started Special Ed Resource because they knew firsthand how hard it is to find tutors who truly understand learning differences. Not tutors who "work with all kids," but specialists who know how to adapt instruction for how your child actually learns.
What began as a small tutoring service has grown into a nationwide team of 40+ special education professionals who have delivered over 100,000 tutoring sessions to families across the country.
Why Florida SUFS Tutoring?
Florida's scholarship programs — FES-UA for students with unique abilities and PEP for personalized education — give families real buying power to choose the help their child needs. But the system can be confusing: matrix levels, the EMA portal, provider approvals, reimbursements.
We became an approved Step Up For Students provider so Florida families can put their scholarship funds toward specialized 1-on-1 tutoring without fighting the paperwork alone.
